Meeting
Following deaths and dawns we coincide,
inside a sea-hushed evening,
stifled by distant keening.
Shared fears forge a now silent impasse,
past mortals I move weightless,
that traitor rooted stillness.
Speechless waits for talk of ancient cities,
ties to myths that join us still,
but fading light dies until
Light of a far-off flame in the shadows,
owes the whole salt-aired pageant,
a single drowning moment.
